Vincent Graham, Project Guides Question: We wish to install a doggie door in a small floor level window. Is there any mention of doggie doors in the Australian Fire Standards relating to apartment fire regulations?
Todd Garsden, Hynes Legal Question: Is it reasonable for a strata bylaw to state awnings can only be purchased by a single supplier? Surely we can only enforce that colour must be in line with the scheme?
Jordan Dinga, Abode Strata Question: What is the correct procedure for being elected as a council member? Can you be elected without submitting any paperwork prior to the meeting?
Leanne Habib, Premium Strata Question: Our air conditioner was installed incorrectly by the builder 5 years ago. Is the repair of the resulting leak part of the strata maintenance responsibilities?
I recommend every owners corporation takes time periodically to reflect on the way it’s managing its affairs. I have noted a few different areas of focus for a ‘health check’. Some are relevant to all schemes, others are overkill for smaller schemes.
